Make and bring home your very own Cajón!


A Cajón is a percussion instrument originated from Peru.

Participants will learn how to build and assemble a Cajón under our instructor’s guidance.

The workshop includes a 30 minute basic lesson where our instructor will teach you the ways of a percussionist, and simple beats.

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of woodworking including cutting, sanding, gluing and assembly of your Cajon.

  • All tools and materials are provided for.
  • Participants must be 12 years old and above in order to attend the workshop.
  • Participants who are unwell or impaired from safely handling tools will not be allowed to participate.
  • This workshop is family-friendly, parents are strongly encouraged to participate with their children.

  • For safety purposes, please wear covered shoes and long pants.
  • Do not wear slippers, sandals, loose clothing, jewellery, or accessories.
  • Do not attend if you are ill, or under medication that causes drowsiness and/or impairment.

Bryan Lucas

Bryan has built drums and percussion instruments for the last 6 years, hand-making each and every one with passion and quality.  As a percussionist and drum-builder from the John Lucas Company, Bryan ensures that each percussion instrument is at its optimal sound quality.  The John Lucas Company makes music gardens, percussion instruments supplying for schools, senior activity centre and professional musicians worldwide including custom orders upon special requests.
